The 32nd Unitaid Executive Board Meeting

1. The 32nd Unitaid Executive Board Meeting was held on June 19-20 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. More than 80 people from donor and implementing countries, the World Health Organization, and non-governmental organizations participated in the meeting. The delegation of the Republic of Korea was headed by Ms. Hyunjoo Oh, Director-General for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2. The Board adopted the midterm review of Unitaid’s 2017-2021 Strategy acknowledging that Unitaid is on track toward its mission to maximize the effectiveness of the global health response by catalyzing equitable access to better health products. The Board elected new leadership — Ms. Marisol Touraine, former French Minister of Social Affairs, Health and Women’s Rights, as Chair and Ms. Maria Luisa Escorel De Moraes, Ambassador from Brazil, as Vice-chair — and discussed ways to increase the impact of Unitaid’s strategy.
