ROK-US MOU on Development Cooperation

1. On September 30, 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (MOFA) and the United States Agency
for International Development (USAID) of the United States of America signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
to improve collaboration in the field of development cooperation between the two countries.
2. Ms. Hyunjoo Oh, Director-General for Development Cooperation of MOFA, and Christopher Maloney,
Assistant to the Administrator in USAID’s Bureau for Policy, Planning and Learning, signed the MOU on behalf of each side.
3. Through the MOU, the two countries agreed to expand collaboration in the field of development cooperation in consideration of
the New Southern Policy of the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Indo-Pacific Strategy of the Government of
the United States of America, and particularly seek mutual cooperation in the empowerment of women, the digital economy,
health and education, etc.
