The government of the Republic of Korea expresses its deep concern on the rapid increase of civilian casualties due to the escalation of the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The government hopes that the situation will de-escalate as soon as possible and that no more lives will be lost, for which the government will work closely with the international community.

The government strongly urges the relevant parties to take measures to protect civilians in compliance with international humanitarian law.

The government also expects that all relevant parties will make efforts to ensure unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to suffering civilians.
