1. The government of the Republic of Korea, as part of its unilateral sanctions on North Korea announced on March 8, released on June 21 the ROK’s watch-list for unlisted items on North Korea consisting of 130-items -- 89 nuclear- and 41 missile-related.

2. The watch-list, whose items are not controlled by the Multilateral Export Control Regimes but could contribute to North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs, has been drawn up in an effort to effectively implement the catch-all provision newly obligated by the UN Security Council resolution 2270 (2016).

3. The ROK government will continue its diplomatic efforts, including by sharing the list with the international community, so that the list could serve as a useful reference in implementing the catch-all provision of the UN Security Council resolution 2270 (2016). By doing so, the ROK will continue to make efforts for faithful implementation of the UN Security Council sanctions resolutions on North Korea.

° On a related note, at the 26th Plenary Meeting of the Nuclear Suppliers Group, which is in session in Seoul from June 20 till 24, the ROK government will also present its nuclear-related list to the Participating Governments of the NSG.
