1. The Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Las Palmas will stage a performance of guitarist Ham chun-ho in Las Palmas on July 14 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Korean presence in the Canary Islands.

2. The performance has been organized to commemorate the settlement of nationals of the Republic of Korea on the Canary Islands, after the ROK’s deep-sea fishing vessel made its first port call at the Islands 50 years ago, and the ROK made the Islands a forward base in the Atlantic Ocean for its fisheries industry. Not only Koreans residing on the Islands but also major figures at relevant local organizations, consuls from other countries, and locals have been invited to the event.
