ROK Government donates 750 metric tons of rice to the Philippines

Deputy Chief Minister Sang Seung Man graced the Ceremonial Handover of 750MT of rice donated by the Republic of Korea to the Philippines on 28 February. The event, held in the city of Calbayog in Samar, marked a significant gesture of solidarity and support.
The donated sacks of rice have reached the regions of Eastern Visayas as well as Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN in Mindanao, providing aid to areas affected by heavy flooding and earthquakes.
This donation is in line with the grant aid under the Tier 3 Program of the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR), which highlights the collaborative effort among ASEAN, Republic of Korea, Japan, and China, aimed at assisting member states in establishing rice reserves to address food shortages or disasters.
The assistance coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea that was celebrated on 3 March of this year.
