The Korean Embassy’s ‘Happy K-Supporter’s Day’

DATE
2024-07-29

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea hosted the Happy K-Supporter’s Day at Korea Plaza, managed by the Korea Tourism Organization, to encourage the activities of Korea Supporters (K-Supporters) and help build personal connections among them. The 2024 K-Supporters, comprising of thirty-three Singaporeans including university students and those with prior experience in K-Culture promotion, were appointed as part of the public diplomacy programme by the Korean Foreign Ministry. Since May this year, they began activities to promote Korea and K-Culture through opportunities provided by the Embassy to attend various Korea-related events organised by the Embassy and other Korean public institutions in Singapore. By sharing about these events on their personal social media accounts, the K-Supporters contribute to the promotion of Korea’s national image. In his welcome remarks, Korean Ambassador Hong Jin-wook complimented the K-Supporters’ passion and enthusiasm in their activities. He also listened to the difficulties they have experienced so far as K-Supporters. Additionally, one of the members of DEEZ’GRID, the local boy dance team that won the first prize at K-Pop Festival held on 29 June, was invited to the event to teach K-Pop dance to the K-Supporters.
