On Saturday, October 19, Consul General Young Wan Kim attended the 'Friends of Korea' (FOK) Annual Meeting held at the Oxford Palace Hotel in Los Angeles. During his speech, he expressed gratitude to the U.S. Peace Corps for its contributions to Korea's education, healthcare, and community development efforts from the 1960s to the 1980s. He also urged FOK to continue its efforts to strengthen the Korea-U.S. relationship and foster closer ties between the two nations.

In addition, Consul General Kim invited FOK members from across the United States, who were visiting LA for the annual meeting, to his residence, where he hosted the 'Korea-U.S. Friendship Night.'

*Friends of Korea (FOK) is one of the leading Korea-friendly organizations in the U.S. Founded in 2002 by former U.S. Peace Corps volunteers who served in Korea from 1966 to 1981, it now welcomes anyone interested in Korea. The organization has approximately 50,000 members across the United States, including Fulbright scholars and KOICA volunteers.*
