Our Consulate General has jurisdiction over Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.
Southern California was a cradle of Korea’s independence movement where many patriotic pioneers such as Dosan Ahn Chang Ho actively participated. It is a historically significant place, encompassing more than a century of Korean American immigration, and deeply intertwined with Korea.
Since Koreans first stepped foot on Hawaii in 1903, the Korean American community has continued to grow and now is 2.55 million strong in support of the ROK-US alliance. Nearly 700,000 Korean Americans reside in Southern California and they have greatly contributed to the increasing political power of the Korean American community by producing a large number of Korean American elected officials, including members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Our Consulate General holds the safety of overseas Koreans as a top priority and strives to improve consular services. We will continue to promote the rights and interests of Korean Americans and support new generations to have even more active roles in the community.
We will endeavor to provide faster and more convenient consular services, to respond quickly in the event of incidents, and to share more useful and important information on our website, such as safety information and economic trends. Furthermore, we will seek to support Korean companies operating in our jurisdiction, and we will do our best to strengthen Korea-U.S. relations by expanding exchanges and cooperation with local government officials, business leaders, research institutes, and the media.
We look forward to your support and interest in our activities.
