1.  Mr. Park Heung-shin, Director-General of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of MOFAT, and Ms Lolly Chiu, Deputy 
Secretary for Home Affairs of Hong Kong, plan to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural 
Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Hong Kong 
Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China in Seoul on August 24, 2004. 

2.  The conclusion of this memorandum is expected to contribute to expansion of exchanges between the 
peoples of the ROK and Hong Kong and promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between the two 
countries by providing a legal framework for promotion of cooperative ties in areas of culture, arts and 
education.

3.  The ROK has concluded memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation with 89 countries.
