1. Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Spain Miquel Nadal Segala will visit the Republic of Korea between 
June 6-8, 2001. Secretary of State Nadal will visit the ROK immdiately after visiting the Democratic People's 
Republic of Korea from June 2 to 5, 2001. 

2. Secretary of State Nadal and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Choi Sung-hong will meet on June 
7, 2001, to exchange views on the outcome of Secretary of State Nadal's visit to North Korea and the 
situation on the Korean peninsula, and discuss ways to promote bilateral cooperation in various areas 
including politics, economy and trade. 

3. In addition, Secretary of State Nadal will have a press conference on his visit to South and North Korea on 
June 7, 2001. Spain has established diplomatic relations with North Korea in February this year, and is to 
assume the EU presidency in the first half of 2002.
