1. Senior Advisor to the President for Economy, Welfare and Labor Lee Kee-ho will visit Mexico, Chile and
Brazil from June 6 to 14, 2002, as the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea.
2. Special Envoy Lee will pay courtesy calls on the presidents of these three countries to deliver President
Kim Dae-jung’s autograph letters and discuss ways to promote bilateral cooperation in economy trade and
investment. In addition, he will meet with the related ministers of the IT industry and plants, for negotiations
on ways to strengthen government-to-government cooperation in these areas.
3. Furthermore, Special Envoy Lee head the private delegation on economy for discussions on ways to
promote substantial cooperation in the areas of IT industry and plants.
4. Taking this opportunity, along with the private delegation, he will hold the “seminar on the Korean
economy” and “consultations on the Korean IT industry’s activities in Latin America and Caribbean” in
Mexico, Chile and Sao Paulo.
5. Special Envoy Lee will also visit Washington D.C. on his way back to participate in a meeting with the
Heritage Foundation and also meet with Chairman of the Federal Reserve Alan Greenspan and Managing
Director and Chairman of the Executive Board Horst Koehler to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.
