1. The Government of the Republic of Korea plans to host the Target City Cooperation Event in Vladivostok
and Sakhalin from October 6 to 10, 2003. The Target City Cooperation Event is a part of the project between
the ROK and Russian governments to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the two
countries.
2. As a follow-up project to the events held in Tomsk and Novosibirsk in June 2003, the upcoming events in
Vladivostok and Sakhalin will include a seminar on petroleum and gas energy and investment in the fishing
industry, participated by government officials and related figures from the economic and academic circles
from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Korean Gas Corporation, Korea Energy Economics Institute, and
Korea Deep Sea Fisheries Association from the ROK; and government officials and businessmen from
Russia. In addition, there will be discussions with the regional government of Primorskye Krai and Sakhalin
Oblast on ways to further promote substantial cooperation between the ROK and Russia.
3. Various cultural events including the Korean film festival, photography exhibition and the Korean Festival
will also be held.
