1.Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kim Jae-sup and Minister of National Economy of Oman Ahmed 
Abdul Nabi Macki signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the 
Government of the Sultanate of Oman for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments on October 
8, 2003.

 
2. The Agreement concerning the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments states that the two 
countries will provide most-favored-nation treatment and national treatment to mutual investors and 
guarantee free transfer of payments.

 
3. The conclusion of this Agreement has provided a legal foundation for mutual encouragement and 
protection of investment between the ROK and Oman.  It is expected to further promote bilateral economic 
cooperation between the two countries.

 
4. With the conclusion of this Agreement, the total number of countries with which the ROK has signed 
agreement on protection of investments has increased to 72.
