1. The Government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the signing of a legally binding treaty by the United 
States and Russia in which the two countries have agreed to reduce their number of strategic nuclear 
warheads to between 1,700 and 2,200 each, by 2012.

 
2. The smooth implementation of this agreement is expected to contribute to the consolidating of a new 
strategic partnership between the United States and Russia, which can further enhance the world security 
and stability.
