1. The 5th ROK-Japan Policy Consultation Meeting on Security will be held in Seoul on November 3, 2003, for 
discussions on issues of common interest regarding security and defense of the two countries.

 
2. The ROK delegation will be headed by MOFAT Director-General for Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau Chung 
Sang-ki, and consist of related officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Ministry of Defense.  
The Japanese delegation will be headed by Director-General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of 
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yabunaka Mitoji, and consist of related officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 
Defense Agency.

 
3. The two sides will take this opportunity to exchange views on the security environment surrounding the 
Korean Peninsula and Japan, and the security and defense policies of the ROK and Japan.  They will also 
discuss cooperative measures in areas of security and defense between the two countries.
