1. Prime Minister of Malaysia Abdula Badawi will pay an official visit to Korea from August 22nd to 24th
upon the invitation of President Roh Moo-hyun.
2. President Roh and Minister Badawi will be holding a summit meeting on August 23rd to exchange
views on bilateral relations and discuss measures to enhance practical cooperation on the bilateral and
multilateral levels, including the ASEAN+3 meetings and at international fora.
3. Minister Badawi will attend a luncheon hosted by President Roh and another luncheon hosted by the
heads of the four major economic organizations, and will also participate in the Korea-Malaysia Business
Forum.
4. This is Minister Badawi’s first official visit to Korea since his assumption of office last October, and it is
expected that his visit will lead to the deepening of the friendly and cooperative relationship between Korea
and Malaysia which has been consistently expanding since the establishment of diplomatic relations in
1960, and will enhance mutual understanding and trust between the leaders of the two countries.
