1. Minister Yu Myung-hwan will host a luncheon on April 10 for the
Ambassadors of 13 Arab countries in Seoul including Ambassador
of Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Korea Moosa Hamdan Al-
Taee.
2. The forthcoming luncheon is the first diplomatic event with Arab
Ambassadors to Seoul since the launch of Lee Myung-bak
administration. Taking this opportunity, Minister Yu will explain the
new administration’s major foreign policies including ‘energy and
resources diplomacy’ and request cooperation from the Arab
countries. The luncheon is also expected to serve as a valuable
opportunity for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to ask for
their support and interest in Korean companies’ business activities
in the Middle East region.
3. Also, Minister Yu will request active support and cooperation from Arab countries in the establishment of
the ‘Middle East Arab Society’. The non-profit organization is being promoted in an effort to elevate the
traditional friendly and cooperative relationship between Korea and the Arab world into the comprehensive
partnership in both civil and government sectors between Korea and Arab countries.
4. The Ministry will continue to exert efforts to strengthen substantial cooperation between Korea and the
Arab countries and expand mutual exchanges in a range of areas including the education and cultural sector.
