1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has raised the Travel-alert Level for the Ratchaprasong
area (including the protest site and areas under military and police siege) in Bangkok, Thailand, to
Level 3 (Travel Restricted) from the previous Level 2 (Highly Cautious) as of May 17.

ㅇ For Bangkok except the Ratchaprasong area, the current Level 2 (Highly Cautious) will be
maintained.

ㅇ Many people have died or been injured as the recent anti-government demonstrations in Bangkok,
Thailand, have become more intense. There is concern about the continuous violent demonstrations
and the possibility of more casualties in the aforementioned protest site.

2. Korean nationals staying near the Ratchaprasong protest site in Bangkok are asked to withdraw
from the region unless they have urgent business, and not to visit the Ratchaprasong area, if possible.

ㅇ Korean nationals staying in Bangkok are asked to pay more heed to their own safety. Those who
have been planning to visit the city are advised to reconsider their need to travel.

ㅇ Please refer to MOFAT’s Safe Overseas Travel website (www.0404.go.kr) for more detailed safety
information regarding the protests in Thailand.
