1. Representative Lee Sang-deuk, who visited Peru to attend the completion ceremony of a liquefied
natural gas plant, the construction of which SK Energy took part in, met with Peruvian President Alan
Garcia on June 10 for a detailed discussion on ways to bolster energy cooperation between Korea
and Peru.

2. With regard to the delayed conclusion of the contract granting Savia Peru, Peru’s third-largest petroleum
company jointly acquired by Korea National Oil Corporation and Colombia’s Ecopetrol, mine-exploration
rights for Z-51 and Z-52, which it won in 2008, Rep. Lee requested the Peruvian government’s cooperation.
President Garcia responded by giving instructions for an early exploration and development.

ο Accordingly, in its gazette for June 11, the Peruvian government announced its approval of exploring
and developing the mines Z-51 and Z-52, lying off the coast of Lima, which will likely lead to accelerated
development of the said mines and six others.

ο During his August 2009 visit to Peru in his capacity as presidential envoy and during President Garcia’s
visit to Korea in November 2009, Rep. Lee had asked President Garcia for his government’s cooperation.

3. With respect to Korea Resources Corporation’s Marcona copper project, President Garcia stated
that support will be extended, including the approval of an environmental-impact evaluation, to allow
commercial production to start in 2013 as planned. He added that the Marcona port development
project will be expedited in an effort to enhance commercial viability via reduced transport costs.

4. Rep. Lee expressed gratitude to President Garcia over POSCO E&C having won remodeling contracts
for the Kallpa and Chilca Uno Thermoelectric Plants last September and on May 29, respectively. He then
requested the Peruvian government’s interest and support in the bidding for the US$230-million Santo
Domingo Thermo Plant remodeling project, which is slated for the second half of this year.
