1. The Eleventh Round of Negotiations on the Trilateral Investment Agreement among
China, Japan and Korea will be held in Gyeongju from June 29 to July 2, 2010.
※ The negotiations were first held upon consensus at the Korea-Japan-China Summit
Meeting held in Cebu, the Philippines in 2007, with the aim to advance the level of
economic cooperation within the East Asian region. Ten rounds of negotiations have
been held to date
2. Deputy Director-General for Bilateral Trade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade,
Chung In-Gyun will be representing the Korean side as head of delegation. The Japanese
delegation will be headed by Deputy Director-General for Economic Affairs Bureau of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Masato Takaoka and Deputy Director-General for Trade Policy
Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Keisuke Sadamori. The Chinese
delegation will be headed by Director General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the
Ministry of Commerce, Li Ling.
3. The main agenda for this round of negotiations will be the general terms of the agreement,
particularly the articles on enhancing investment conditions, expanding investment and
strengthening the level of protection for investing enterprises.
