1. The Republic of Korea, China and Japan will hold the 4th Trilateral Policy Dialogue on Africa in Tokyo,
Japan, on December 7 with the three countries’ Directors-General handling African affairs in attendance.

* The delegations of the three countries will be led by MOFAT’s Director-General for African and Middle
Eastern Affairs Song Woong-yeob and his Chinese and Japanese counterparts, Lu Shaye and Sumio
Kusaka, respectively.

2. The ROK-China-Japan Policy Dialogue on Africa was launched under the agreement reached at
the ROK-China-Japan Summit in November 2007 for the three countries to share information on and
experience in Africa and seek ways for sustainable development and heightened peace and security
on the continent.

3. The Dialogue this year will deal with the three countries’ policy directions on Africa; plans to hold their
forums on the continent next year; economic and development cooperation between Africa and each of
the three countries; support measures for South Sudan’s national construction efforts; and Somalia and
other major issues in Africa.

4. The ROK-China-Japan Policy Dialogue on Africa, held in the capital cities of the three countries on a
rotational basis since 2008, is expected to enhance mutual understanding on their Africa policies, and
thereby contribute to boosting their trilateral partnership.
