With regard to the return of 1,200 volumes of Joseon Dynasty archives, including the Uigwe, from Japan 
on December 6, the Government of the Republic of Korea takes note of the Japanese government’s 
cooperation to realize the return as planned. The ROK government expects that the return of the archives 
will contribute to increasing cultural exchanges and cooperation and to further developing the relations 
between the two countries in a future-oriented manner.
