1. Song Bong-heon, Ambassador for International Security Affairs, will attend as head of the delegation from the Republic of Korea the 3rd High-level Security Conference hosted by the Russian government in St. Petersburg, Russia, on June 7-8.

2. At the Conference, high-level diplomats and security officials from 50-odd countries, including the US, China, Japan and France, as well as the UN will discuss international cooperation measures to strengthen the global security in energy and information and to eradicate piracy.

3. Through this meeting, the ROK intends to gather information on the trend of international discussions on the aforementioned non-traditional security issues of the 21st century. In addition, as one of the information technology powerhouses, it will seek to play a leading role in the field. To this end, it will publicize its efforts at home and abroad to bolster international information security, including its plan to host the 2013 Conference on Cyberspace, and propose a future direction for international cooperation.
