1. The House of Councilors of Japan, in a similiar move made by the House of Representatives on August 24, adopted a resolution reiterating Japan’s unjustified claim to Dokdo, which is an integral part of the territory of the Republic of Korea. The adoption of such resolution demonstrates the country’s unwillingness to eliminate the remaining vestiges of its colonial invasion.

° The Government of the Republic of Korea makes it clear once again that it will not tolerate any nonsensical claims or unjust demands by Japan over the ROK's inviolable territory.

2. With regard to the remarks made by President Lee Myung-bak on August 14, the Government of the Republic of Korea deems it incomprehendable that Japan continues to take issue with them, although the government has already explained the background.

3. Japan should immediately stop making such unjust moves and make further efforts to pave the way for future-oriented relations between the Republic of Korea and Japan, while squarely facing history.
