1. Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will visit China on April 24 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

* In the telephone conversation on March 19 between the ROK and Chinese Foreign Ministers to offer congratulations on their inaugurations, Foreign Minister Wang Yi invited Foreign Minister Yun to visit China.

2. In the ROK-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting to be held for the first time since the inauguration of the new governments in both countries, Minister Yun Byung-se will further solidify mutual trust and strengthen bilateral strategic communication by exchanging in-depth views on the new ROK and Chinese governments’ foreign policies and major issues of concern.

3. In particular, the two Ministers will exchange their assessments of the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, and explore ways to closely cooperate on future responses. They will also discuss ways to make substantive progress on the ROK-China Strategic Cooperative Partnership, which has expanded in a wide range of areas over the past 20 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations, as well as ways to work together at regional and international levels.

4. During his visit to China, Minister Yun will also meet with the Chinese high-level officials and have a broad exchange of views on ways to enhance bilateral relations.
