1. On the sidelines of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se met with Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 26. In their meeting, the two Ministers took note of the remarkable advances in the relations between the Republic of Korea and the UAE and agreed to maintain and reinforce the momentum of cooperation.

º The ROK and the UAE are seeing their cooperative ties expand into and deepen in various fields, including energy, construction and medical care. They are making multifarious efforts to maintain this momentum.

2. The two Ministers agreed to hold their strategic dialogue at an appropriate time for in-depth discussions on key issues and ways for cooperation between their two countries. In addition, they exchanged views on a wide range of matters of mutual concern, including high-level exchanges; joint investment in third countries; and cooperation in medical care, consular affairs and development as well as on the international stage.

º The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on the current situations on the Korean Peninsula and in the Middle East.

3. The ROK-UAE Foreign Ministers’ meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session served as an opportunity to discuss specific ways of cooperation for promoting bilateral ties, thereby helping further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
