1. The 3rd Meeting of the ROK-Iran Joint Commission on Culture, aimed at expanding substantive cooperation between the ROK and Iran in culture, arts, education and sport, will be held in Seoul on October 7.

o Hahn Choong-hee, Director-General for Cultural Affairs of the ROK Foreign Ministry, and Abdulrasol Mohajer Hejazi, Director-General for Asia and Pacific Affairs of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, will attend the meeting as heads of their respective delegations.

2. At the meeting, the two sides will assess the achievements made in expanding cultural exchanges between the two countries through cultural events on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishment of bilateral relations in 2012. The two sides will also discuss ways to promote cooperation in a variety of areas, including culture, arts, film, education and sport.

3. Following the meeting on October 7, Director-General Mohajer will hold the first ROK-Iran Policy Consultation with Moon Duk-ho, Director-General for African and Middle Eastern Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, on October 8. Director-General Mohajer will also give a lecture at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and visit the Asan Institute for Policy Studies.
