1. First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yong will visit the US from June 23 through 26. During the visit, he will meet with Deputy Secretary of State William Burns and other high-ranking officials of the US administration as well as leading figures of Congress and the academia to exchange views on key issues of mutual concern and ways to work more closely together.

2. The upcoming visit of Vice Minister Cho to the US will take place as part of the series of active high-level exchanges between the Republic of Korea and the United States since the launch of the Park Geun-hye government, which include two rounds of summit talks and five meetings between the ROK Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State. As such, it is expected to serve as an opportunity to further solidify the framework of bilateral policy coordination on such issues as those concerning the Korean Peninsula and the situation in Northeast Asia.
