1. With regard to the outcome of the so-called review of the details leading to the drafting of the Kono Statement announced by the Japanese government on June 20, the government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) has been working to give a clear idea of its position and the views of the international community on the matter. As part of such efforts, the ROK Foreign Ministry created on June 25 a pop-up window with links to relevant editorials of The New York Times and other prominent media outlets abroad and article contributions by leading figures at home and abroad.

2. In addition, in order to help more accurately understand the essence of the issue of sexual slavery victims drafted by Japan's Imperial Armed Forces during World War II, the ROK Foreign Ministry uploaded on its website pop-up window on June 27 two documentary videos containing vivid oral testimonies by such victims from the ROK, China and the Philippines.

° The uploaded videos are: "Within Every Woman," which was shown by the Korean Council for Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan at a side event of the 2014 session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, creating a great sensation; and "63 Years on (Unfinished War)," which won the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Documentary Feature Film in 2008. These video clips and the relevant materials also have been uploaded on the websites of all the overseas diplomatic missions of the ROK.

3. The ROK Foreign Ministry, together with other government agencies and organizations, will continue efforts to widely inform the international community of the truth regarding the issue of Japan's military sexual enslavement. Furthermore, the Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with other countries directly affected by Japan's sexual enslavement and those working to eradicate wartime sexual violence, will continue urging the Japanese government to take sincere and responsible actions to resolve the issue of victims of its military sexual enslavement.
