1. The final round of the “Global Taste of Korea Contest 2014” will take place at Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), Seoul, on September 30. The Foreign Ministry, together with Jeollabuk-do (province) and MBC, has organized the event to enhance the image of the Republic of Korea as a charming Korea through Hansik (Korean food).

2. The 15 winners of the preliminaries held at 15 overseas diplomatic missions of the ROK will visit the country to participate in the five-day Korean food camp in Jeollabuk-do, during which they will have first-hand experiences of “taste” and traditional culture of Korea. In the semi-final round on September 27, they will show the culinary talent they have honed.

3. The five semi-final winners will advance to the final round, the winner of which will be awarded a cash prize of 10,000 US dollars. The Foreign Ministry, in order to draw continued interest in Korean food and to induce the 15 preliminary winners to play an active role in promoting Korean food back in their home countries, will grant them year-long statuses as “Honorary Ambassadors for the Promotion of Korean Food.”
