1. During his visit to Germany from February 5 through 8, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry on February 7. The meeting will mark the first of its kind in 2015 and the ninth since the two top diplomats took up their current posts. In the meeting, the Minister and the Secretary will discuss ways to advance the Republic of Korea-United States alliance; the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia; and the global partnership between the two countries.

2. The upcoming high-level meeting between the ROK and the US will come after the visits to the ROK by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman on January 28 and 29 and Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller from January 29 through February 1. It is expected to serve as an opportunity to further step up close bilateral collaboration on the North Korean nuclear issue and other major issues of mutual concern.
