1. On February 13, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will meet with his Palestinian counterpart Riad Malki, who is on a visit to the Republic of Korea.

2. In their meeting, the two Ministers will discuss a variety of ROK-Palestine matters, including holding policy consultations, development cooperation and inviting Palestinian diplomats to educational programs in the ROK. In addition, they will exchange views on the situation in the Middle East, including Israel-Palestine issues, and those surrounding the Korean Peninsula.

3. During his visit to the ROK, Minister Malki will also meet with Chairman Yoo Ki-june of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, President Kim Young-mok of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and Foreign Ministry correspondents; attend a roundtable to be hosted by the Asan Institute for Policy Studies; and visit the inter-Korean border village of Panmunjeom on the weekend to examine the situation on the divided Korean Peninsula.

4. Minister Malki’s visit to the ROK comes in reciprocation for Minister Yun’s visit to Palestine in December 2014 and is expected to contribute to advancing the ROK-Palestine relations.
