1. The governments of the Republic of Korea and Japan, having designated the year 2015 as the 50th anniversary of the normalization of their relations, agreed to hold various commemorative events in a bid to promote exchanges and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.

2. The two governments, after consultations with each other, have finalized the logo and the slogan for the commemorative events. They will seek to induce active participation of the private sector. To that end, for the sector’s events befitting the purpose of 50th anniversary projects, they will approve them as projects for “the 50th anniversary of the normalization of the ROK-Japan relations,” and allow the use of the logo and the slogan in the events.

3. The ROK government will seek to make a success of the commemorative events for the 50th anniversary of the normalization of its relations with Japan this year and thereby further boost exchanges and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries. It hopes that the anniversary will be the starting point toward a new future between the two countries.
