1. Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will visit a social welfare center in Sinwol-dong, Seoul, on February 16 to make mandu (dumplings) with children of multicultural families and offer them words of wisdom. He will also present school bags to children who will enter the first grade of elementary school in March.
◦ With the Seol (lunar new year’s day) holidays just around the corner, the Minister, the Vice Ministers and other officials of the Foreign Ministry will visit a total of eight social welfare facilities to undertake volunteer work.
◦ Foreign Ministry officials, by participating in food service activities in Cheongnyangni, Seoul, every year, has practiced love for underprivileged neighbors of Korean society; stepped up communication with the public; and taken part in spreading the culture of sharing.
2. Later in the day, the Foreign Minister will visit the World Cup Market in Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, to exchange with vendors words of blessing for the new year as well as greetings with citizens who will be shopping ahead of the Seol holidays.
◦ Minister Yun will buy goods at the market and deliver them to the Mapo-gu Office. The goods will be offered to low-income families in the Mapo-gu area.
