1. Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jianchao of China will visit the Republic of Korea from March 15 through 18. During his visit, the Assistant Minister will meet with Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Lee Kyung-soo and make a courtesy call on First Vice Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yong.

2. The visit to the ROK by Assistant Minister Liu, who supervises Northeast Asian affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, is expected to serve as an opportunity for the Foreign Ministries of the two countries to exchange in-depth views on matters of mutual concern, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula and other regional and global issues, thereby helping move the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership substantially forward.
