1. A Republic of Korea-US-Japan consultation of head delegates to the Six-Party Talks will take place in Seoul on May 26 and 27. The three head delegates are Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Hwang Joon-kook of the ROK Foreign Ministry, Special Representative for North Korea Policy Sung Kim of the US Department of State and Director-General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs Junichi Ihara of the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

2. In their consultation, the three countries will share their assessments of the current situation in and threats from North Korea and discuss in depth a multifaceted range of ways, including deterrence, pressure and dialogue, to make tangible progress on the North Korean nuclear issue.
