1. The Korea-Africa Investment Forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) to mark “Africa Day,” will take place at the FKI Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul, on May 27. The Forum will bring together some 80 people, including Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, FKI Chairman Huh Chang-soo, Moroccan Ambassador to the ROK Chraibi (head of the group of the African Ambassadors to the ROK), the African diplomatic corps in the ROK, and representatives from major Korean companies.

2. The upcoming Forum will feature an ROK-Africa business networking luncheon, attended by Korean businessmen and the African diplomatic corps in the ROK; an Africa project fair, where an overview of development projects in key African countries will be given; and one-on-one business meetings between Korean companies willing to enter the African market and the African diplomatic corps in the ROK.

3. In particular, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and FKI Chairman Huh Chang-soo will host an ROK-Africa business networking luncheon in order to enhance communications between the African diplomatic corps in the ROK and executives of major Korean companies, as well as promote substantive economic cooperation between the ROK and Africa.

4. The Foreign Ministry and the FKI decided to hold the ROK-Africa Investment Forum to celebrate the day of unity among Africans and provide substantive support to Korean companies interested in increasing their presence in Africa. The Forum is expected to contribute to expanding economic and trade cooperation between the ROK and Africa, as well as the ROK’s investment in Africa.
