1. With regard to the bombing attack in Cairo, Egypt, on June 29 that killed Egyptian Prosecutor-General Hisham Barakat and another terrorist attack on the northern Sinai Peninsula on July 1 that resulted in deaths of victims including numerous civilians, the Government of the Republic of Korea offers its deepest condolence and consolations to the people of Egypt and the bereaved families of the victims.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea strongly condemns such terrorist acts and reaffirms its firm position that terrorist acts cannot be justified under any circumstances. Furthermore, the Government of the Republic of Korea will participate actively in efforts of the UN and the rest of the international community to eradicate terrorism.
