1. Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Kim Hong-kyun will hold an ROK-US high-level consultation on sanctions with Special Representative for North Korea Policy Sung Kim and Coordinator for Sanctions Policy Daniel Fried of the US Department of State in Seoul on March 21. They will continue overall coordination on ways to sanction and pressure North Korea after the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2270.

2. Prior to the consultation, Special Representative Kim will hold a meeting of top negotiators of the ROK and the US for the Six-Party Talks with Special Representative for North Korea Policy Sung Kim on March 21, which is the second of its kind following their meeting on March 11. In the meeting, the two sides will discuss a whole range of issues concerning North Korea and its nuclear program, including the outcome of Special Representative Kim Hong-kyun’s visit to China from March 18 to 19.
