1. This year’s round of the Arab Cultural Festival, an annual event hosted by the Korea-Arab Society (KAS), a non-profit incorporated foundation, with the support of the Foreign Ministry, the Korea Foundation and the Arab Diplomatic Corps in the Republic of Korea, will take place in May.

◦ The Arab Cultural Festival, which marks the ninth of its kind this year, is the only large-scale event held in the ROK to introduce the Arab culture to Koreans and thereby to promote their understanding of the Arab world. The forthcoming festival will feature an Arab cultural festival and the fifth Arab film festival in the first half of the year 2016; and special lectures on the Arab community and a forum on Arab films in the second half.

3. The Arab Cultural Festival is expected to serve as an opportunity for ROK-Arab cultural communication, through which ROK nationals can experience various aspects of the Arab culture and thereby better understand it.
