1. The Government of the Republic of Korea strongly condemns the terrorist acts that occurred in Baghdad on May 11 and in Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad, the Republic of Iraq, on May 12. The ROK government reiterates its firm position that terrorist acts cannot be justified under any circumstances.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea offers its deepest condolence and sympathy to the innocent victims of the attacks and their bereaved families as well as the people and the government of the Republic of Iraq.

3. The Government of the Republic of Korea will continue to take an active part in the efforts of the international community, including the UN, to eradicate terrorism.
