1. The Foreign Ministry has issued Travel-alert Level 1, or Blue Alert (Precautious), for Aktobe province, Kazakhstan; and downgraded the Travel-alert for the Zanzibar Archipelago, Tanzania, from the existing Level 2, or Yellow Alert (Highly Cautious), to Level 1, effective from June 10.
2. The nationals of the Republic of Korea visiting or residing in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, or Zanzibar, Tanzania, are advised to pay heed to their safety.
3. On a related note, the ROK Foreign Ministry, through its website on safe overseas travel and texting service, has provided information on the shooting attacks in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. The ROK’s diplomatic mission in the country, through its emergency contact networks, has checked on the safety situation of the local ROK nationals, and asked them to refrain from outings and pay serious heed to their safety.
