1. The Foreign Ministry, together with the Hangang Network, will hold at Seoul National University on June 16 an academic conference on “the Republic of Korea’s public diplomacy” for graduate students in international studies.

* The Hangang Network is a civilian organization established in early 2016 by Korean and foreign professors working at universities in the ROK with the aim to boost academic and cultural exchanges between the ROK and foreign countries.

2. At the forthcoming academic conference, ten Korean and foreign graduate students in international studies will present their theses on the ROK’s public diplomacy. There will also be a question-and-answer session for the participants to exchange views on ways to promote the ROK’s public diplomacy.

3. Korean and foreign graduate students in international studies, a group with keen interest in the ROK’s public diplomacy and international relations, are expected to play a pivotal role in the ROK’s public diplomacy. The Foreign Ministry will encourage the students to continuously take interest in it and participate in relevant activities.
