KNDA to Host an International Conference on “Historical Issues and New Relations between the ROK and Japan”

1. The Center for Japanese Studies at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA)’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) will host an international conference on “historical issues and new relations between the Republic of Korea and Japan” at the KNDA on June 17.

2. With a foundation to be launched in 2016 to render assistance to victims who were drafted by Japan as so-called “comfort women,” the seminar participants will look into the “comfort women” issue and tasks, and discuss ways to build future-oriented relations between the two countries.

3. The Center for Japanese Studies holds an open seminar on major issues between the ROK and Japan on a quarterly basis. The upcoming round will mark the third of its kind in 2016.
