1. The Foreign Ministry will hold the 2016 Trilateral Youth Camp for 70-odd college students from the Republic of Korea, Japan and China in Goseong, Gangwon-do (province), from July 18 to 21.

2. The Trilateral Youth Camp, which was first held in 2012 and marks its fifth this year, is a trilateral youth exchange event that takes place as part of the Foreign Ministry’s efforts to build an ROK-China-Japan trilateral youth network.

3. At the Camp, the college students from the ROK, Japan and China will deliver presentations on their experiences in trilateral exchanges and cooperation; discuss ways for trilateral cooperation; and share with one another their difficulties, thereby learning more about and building friendship with one another. They will also visit a unification observatory and delve into how a constructive future can be built for the three countries, and peace can be established in Northeast Asia.

4. The event will offer the future leaders of the three countries an opportunity to spend four days together and to put their heads together on ways that the three countries can work together in the future. As such, it is expected to help enhance mutual understanding and build solidarity among the youths of the three countries.

5. Going forward, the Foreign Ministry will hold a mock youth summit in Japan and an essay contest on trilateral cooperation in efforts to build an ROK-China-Japan trilateral youth network.
