Special Envoy of the President to Attend the Inauguration Ceremony of the Peruvian President

1. The government of the Republic of Korea will send Representative Yoo Jae-jung of the ruling Saenuri Party as special envoy of the President to the inauguration ceremony of incoming President Pedro Kuczynski of Peru, scheduled to take place in Lima, Peru, on July 28.

2. Peru is a Latin American economy with vast territory, rich resources and market-friendly policies that has lately been emerging. The ROK and Peru, which concluded a bilateral FTA in 2011, have been stepping up substantive cooperation through robust high-level exchanges, including President Park Geun-hye’s state visit to Peru in April 2015.

3. Special envoy Yoo will attend the inauguration ceremony of new President Kuczynski and extend congratulations to him. He will also meet with top-level officials of the new Peruvian government and relay the hope of President Park and the ROK government for continuous and close cooperation between the two countries.
