1. The government of the Republic of Korea has decided to send a government delegation, led by Minjoo Party lawmaker Park Byeong-seug, to the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, to be held in Beijing, China, from May 14 to 15.

o The dispatch of a government delegation comes after the Chinese government’s official invitation. Lawmaker Park Byeong-seug, head of the delegation, will attend the forum’s opening ceremony and high-level plenary meeting in the morning and parallel discussion sessions in the afternoon on May 14.

o The government delegation, led by lawmaker Park Byeong-seug, will consist of Minjoo Party lawmakers Park Kwang-on and Park Jeung, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lim Sung-nam, and Deputy Minister For International Affairs of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance Song In-chang.

2. At the forum, the ROK side will explore ways for the ROK and China to work together to promote co-prosperity in the region, including the ROK’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, being actively pursued by the Chinese government.
