1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously issued a special travel advisory for the areas where the Philippine military and police are conducting an operation to find Abu Sayyaf terrorists (Inabanga, Clarin, Sagbayan, Danao, Buenavista, Tubigon, Carmen) on the Island of Bohol in the central Philippines in order to protect nationals of the Republic of Korea there.

o Period during which the special travel advisory is issued: from April 24 till the end of the operation to find the rebels

2. The Philippine authorities announced in its joint press briefing on May 15 that the situation caused by the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf’s infiltration of the island had ended after the last remaining members of the group were killed.

o The Philippine military and police have killed a total of 12 members of the group and arrested 2 members who sneaked into the island to rescue them from April 11 till now.
