1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the awards ceremony for the 2017 Working Holiday Contents Competition at the Working Holiday Info Center in Gwanghwamun on June 23, with related officials, including Director-General for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs Kim Wan-joong, in attendance.

2. A total of 392 people who participated in the working holiday program submitted their entries (story: 184, video: 67, photo: 141) to the contents competition, held as part of efforts to promote correct understanding of the working holiday program. Awards and prize money were given to 24 participants, including 2 First-Prize winners, 5 Second-Prize winners, and 17 Encouragement Prize winners.

3. Award-winning works will be posted on the Working Holiday Info Center’s website (whic.mofa.go.kr) and SNS to be shared with the people interested in the working holiday program. In addition, a collection of stories of working holiday participants will also be distributed, and award-winning videos will be played at the “working holiday talk talk (briefing session on the working holiday program in each country),” which takes place every week at the Working Holiday Info Center.

4. In his congratulatory remarks, Director-General Kim Wan-joong said that as about 40,000 Korean youngsters worked in 21 countries, including Australia, Canada, Japan and New Zealand, through the working holiday program last year, vivid stories of their experience will significantly help youth planning to participate in the program to do so safely and successfully.
